Training sessions are now being offered by the roofing specialists!!!

All of our trainers are accredited Health and Safety professionals experienced in adult education and the practical application and integration of health and safety principles into work activities.

Our training programs use relevant and subject specific course material to demonstrate real life situations and effective methods of hazard mitigation. This will help to ensure that all learners have a full understanding of how to implement the practical information presented in their training session.

We offer flexible, workplace-specific courses for all levels of your organization that will not only meet your regulatory obligations, but will also assist you in communicating your company’s OH&S commitment.

Training Courses Offered 

  •  Working at Heights (CPO Approved) (8 Hrs. – $175/pp)
    Employers of people who work at heights now have a training standard, as set out by the Ministry of Labour that they must adopt to prevent falls and improve safety. The just-released Working at Heights Training Program Standard is intended for workers who use travel restraint systems, fall restricting systems, fall arrest systems or safety nets.
  • WHMIS (GHS) 2015 (0.75 Hrs. – $45/pp)
    It is a comprehensive system for providing health and safety information on hazardous products intended for use, handling, or storage in Canadian workplaces. WHMIS has aligned with the worldwide hazard communication system known as GHS – the Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labelling of Chemicals.
  •  CH-02 – Propane in Construction (2 Hrs. – $150/pp)
    Propane CH-02 training is mandatory for anyone connecting, activating or disconnecting propane devices (400,000 BTU’s or less). Although most employees will tell you they understand propane and know how to connect cylinders to heaters and torches, what they may not know are the legal details surrounding propane use at the job site.
  •  REO – Roof Equipment Operator (2 Hrs. – $150/pp)
    This program covers the specific hazards related to propane used in roofing applications. It provides participants with information on how to safely connect, disconnect, and activate propane torches and kettles in accordance with Technical Standards and Safety Authority (TSSA) requirements.
  •  Forklift (1.5 Hrs. – $75/pp)
    Do You Need Forklift Certification (License)?Clause 25(2)(a) of the OHSA places an obligation on an employer to “provide information, instruction and supervision to a worker to protect the health or safety of the worker”. Regulation 851 is more specific and states that a lifting device is only to be operated by a competent person. “Competent person” is defined by the OHSA as someone who is qualified because of his knowledge, training, and experience to organize the work and its performance, is familiar with the provisions of this Act and the regulations that apply to the work, and has knowledge of any potential or actual danger to health or safety in the workplace.
  •  Elevated Work Platforms (1 Hrs. – $75/pp)
    Participants will receive training in the following elements:

    Workplace Pre-Use Inspections
    Characteristics of Scissor Lifts and Vertical Mast Lifts
    Characteristics of Articulating and Telescopic Boom Lifts

  •  Occupational Health & Safety Act – Training (1 Hrs. – $45/pp)
    The regulatory requirements apply to all workplaces covered under the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA), regardless of sector. All employers must ensure workers and supervisors complete, or have completed, an awareness training program that meets the regulatory requirements. This is mandatory whether they work on a construction project, in a retail store or factory, hospital or long-term care facility, mine or mining plant, or farming operation, etc.These awareness training programs will increase workers’ and supervisors’ knowledge of basic rights and responsibilities under the OHSA and heighten awareness of basic workplace health and safety issues. They will support the Internal Responsibility System, which is based on the principle that workplace parties themselves are in the best position to identify health and safety problems and develop solutions. Employers, supervisors and workers share in the responsibility for occupational health and safety – and their roles and responsibilities are an important component of these awareness training programs.
  •  Workplace Violence and Harassment- Included in OHSA Training
    Everyone should be able to work in a safe and healthy workplace. The Occupational Health and Safety Act sets out roles and responsibilities of workplace parties with respect to workplace violence and workplace harassment, including developing and implementing policies and programs and providing information and instruction on these. This course will elaborate on the legislation as well as common practices.
  •  Chainsaw Safety Awareness Training (6 Hrs. – $155/pp)
    This program is offered for those workers who use power chainsaws for general ground use. The program is designed to help workers ensure safe and proficient operating practices. Participants are required to bring their own CSA approved head, eye/face shield and foot protection, chainsaw/leather work gloves, ear protection and leg protection/chaps.Participants will receive training in the following elements:
    • Interpretation of relevant regulations and the Occupational Health and Safety Act
    • Protection of self and others
    • Working in a safe environment
    • Job planning
    • Maintenance and operation of a chainsaw
    • Field practice (an evaluated demonstration of chainsaw operation skills)
