Ballast removal or dry vacuuming as it is also referred to as is the foundation of this service. Our vacuum system is set up next to the building and connected to a specialized nozzle using a combination of hose and PVC pipe. We then make a single pass to remove all loose and non-embedded rock from the roof surface. Our machines can vacuum many types of aggregates including pea gravel and 1” ballast rock making wheelbarrows and shovels obsolete. This eliminates the most labor-intensive portion of a ballasted single-ply tear off, and eliminates damage to the roof membrane that shovels may cause during a typical gravel removal.
